What are our watercolors made of?Each of our watercolor paints consists of natural non-toxic pigments blended with a unique watercolor binding medium that includes distilled water, glycerine, honey, gum Arabic, clover oil, and, of course, love. The range of pigments we use varies from natural earth, crystals and plants pigments. In our commitment to safety, we consciously avoid using any paints containing toxic elements such as cobalts, chromiums, cadmiums, lead, mercury, or other hazardous materials. Our metallic watercolors have high pigment density, which ensures complete coverage on both white and black paper with just a single brushstroke. These paints are lightfast, do not require any fixation. Metallic watercolors offer a lustrous, shimmering finish that can transform both traditional and modern art pieces, adding a distinctive sparkle and vibrant, jewel-toned colors that make your artwork pop.

Are your watercolors lightfast? What is their lightfastness rating? Many of the colors in our core collection are lightfast. However, it's important to note that lightfastness ratings can be confusing due to the abundance of inconsistent information online. No two rating systems are identical, and various factors such as geographical location, the mineral content of your water, and the amount of sunlight exposure can influence the results. Truly accurate lightfastness testing is typically performed in specialized, controlled laboratories, often only accessible to museums and professional art institutions. Please be aware that most plant pigments are not lightfast. The descriptions of each individual color specify these details.

Are the paints safe for children to use?The color pigments we use are primarily of cosmetic grade or are metallic pigments suitable for resin casts, and we ensure not to use microplastics. Additionally, all other ingredients meet food-grade purity standards. However, it is important to keep these paints out of reach of young children to avoid choking hazards.
